Welcome Update

Hello family and friends.
In May as we approached our 1 year anniversary we began talking more seriously about growing our family. We had talked about our plans for growing a family that included both biological and adopted children and started to think more about this and our desire to become parents. We decided after much thought and prayer that we should adopt our first child. We have many reasons for this decision including the fact that we have more time to help a new child adjust, and we would like our child to see the rest of our family to grow.

The next decision was that we wanted to adopt from Russia. This is a country with an overwhelming number of orphans and limited resources to help these children. We want to help to give a child a loving home and opportunities they might not otherwise have and we felt Russia calling for us.

Between May and November we have had many decisions to make and are moving right along in the process. We hope to bring home a baby boy from Russia some time in 2008. We hope to use this blog to keep everyone updated on how things are going and use this as our way to communicate while in Russia.
